For the first time in what seems ages, the wind finally relented last Saturday and we managed to get out on the water. Having spent the last two weeks doing circuits or general maintenance it was a very nice change to actually go rowing. We managed to get out in our latest acquisition, a second hand eight – despite a (very) scratch crew we had a good couple of outings and the boat went well. Certainly well worth what we paid for it! Steve managed to set what must be a club record for the fastest capsize – only his third time out with us and he found out the hard way how difficult it can be boating from the pontoon… still, it was quite a nice day and he dried out pretty quick.
Saturday rowing – at last!!!!
